So I 'got' to work today (AKA upstairs in the office) and checked my email to see if any of my students needed anything. I had a few of the usual emails and then the one that felt like a punch in the stomach...one of my 10th graders (!) emailed to say sorry he hadn't logged in in the last couple days but his 'fiance' had just given birth to their son. Seriously?! UGH. It is hard enough to hear these things - and what do you say to a 16 y/o that just became a father....congratulations.
Could this week get any worse?
(I know, I should know better than to ask that, but...seriously?!?)
